How does the total tuition compare for these two schools? (Online souirces are very varied.)
How does FA compare for these two schools? Does one generally give more?

Both have a simple estimator and a more detailed net price calculator. Use them to get estimates for your financial situation.

This showed up in my Google news feed today. Could be relevant:
“Beginning next year, Yale will raise the threshold for zero parent share awards to $75,000 in annual income, increasing the number of families eligible for Yale’s most generous financial aid award.”

Tuition costs for both of these schools are clearly noted on each school’s website. That’s where you need to start, and these are numbers that you can rely on.
If you are asking about your projected net cost after need-based financial aid is figured in, use the Net Price Calculator on the school’s website.
These are 2 of the most generous FA schools out there. If you or your kid is fortunate enough to get into both, it is likely you can “shop” the FA packages since both schools consider each other FA peers.
Agree with @BKSquared
We knew anecdotally, one student got better FA deal from Princeton than that they got from Stanford, they “appealed” with Stanford and Stanford matched the FA offer.
