Financial Aid Award?

Still waiting. I wonder what’s taking so long.

We had Lea Voight for a financial advisor. She no longer works there. I’m thinking that’s the reason ours is taking so long.

Honestly, if memory serves me right, I don’t remember getting my financial aid until early August. Checking my Vandy email confirms this. I only just learned that it was even possible for people to get their financial aid as early as June.

With a rising sophomore, I just wanted to see it asap as reassurance that it would be similar to her freshman year award. Several friends with students at other schools have told me how they got decent financial aid for their freshmen but then it dropped significantly for the following years putting the families in a bit of turmoil as they figured it all out. I guess I didn’t trust VU until I saw it with my own eyes. Next year, I won’t be as concerned. Just thought I’d share that for any others in the same boat. Try to relax and trust the process. Vanderbilt is a step above!

Has anybody called financial aid? I was thinking about it.

One year mine came as late as July 6 or 7, but they apparently were experiencing heavy delays that year. If it is not posted by July 1, definitely nothing wrong with giving them a call. Do post back to update the others.

Just got mine. Almost EXACTLY the same amount as last year.

Regarding 2nd year financial aid packages - we will have 2 in college this coming year.

There was a definite increase.

I can’t say enough about how great Vandy is.

So great to hear that @KaMaMom. We’ll have 2 in college the next year, and I was wondering if there would be a noticeable increase in aid.

Mine just came out today. Also saw an increase from previous years, which is awesome since our EFC was actually higher this year

My income went down… and so did our aid. Will be calling Monday!

@moonpie Do you have one less kid in college this year?

Yes… but when I had one in college before, she still got need based aid. However my middle has a fairly significant scholarship, so her aid is always less, because the scholarship is applied first.

Update… they have revised her aid… thank GOD. We are back to what we expected it to be with 1 less kid in college : )
