I know you probably think we have lots of billion dollar foundations sitting around, giving away money, but that doesn’t happen (and our streets are, sadly, not paved with gold).

Your situation sounds similar to students all over the world. Your university examined your family’s income and assets and determined you have some financial need so you get some discount off of your tuition leaving you and your family to pay the rest.
