Took a little navigating, but I found it. Thanks buffalowings and mtreyesx1

My Freshman Award Letter page still shows ‘No Access At This Time’. Does this mean no aid has been awarded to me.

Any International students have been awarded aid as yet?

So, is this just based on need, or is this including merit based too?
They offered me loans and their payment plan, but the FA office when I visited said that need comes first and then merit… I think.

i’m international. admitted to VSB but received an email early this morning that Villanova is unable to award me with any aid because of limited funding. i am not going without any aid…

Wow. I can’t believe I got so much aid. So I guess they really only do give aid to the people with lowest EFCs and the people in the middle are screwed.

So apparently I misread/could not navigate the Financial Aid page, and I did actually receive aid.
SO happy I might be going to Nova!

i got no $$$$ which was kinda expected … but still going! cannot wait!! :)

Mtreyes,

thank you for the instructions. You are correct, you have to click on a lot of links and dig through everything to find your award letter. My DS only received 5K in loans. We are middle class and for some reason Villanova thinks we have 50K just lying around to use this year for tuition. I’d like to know where it is? I know we have equity in our house since we have lived in it for 15 years but we can’t sell it to fiinance education. we would have no place to live.

Unfortunately I think Villanova is moving off the table. Just about every other school that has accepted my DS has offered a great merit scholarship. We found out last week that my son was one of the winners of a scholarship competition at Ohio State and received close to $120K which is amost a full-ride. It is hard to pass that up in this economy. Plus he got Honors College which will make the school smaller for him.

^^^^, hard to pass up $$$$,but sometimes it is prudent…Is the program your DS entering at Ohio St as good(or better) then "Nova?..We passed up close to 100k also, from 2 different schools to attend 'Nova, only time will tell if it was the right move…Best of luck in your decisions…

I have a full ride offer from SMU and I’m contemplating turning it down for nova since I got tons of aid. The only thing is thy SMU’s is guaranteed 4 years while nova is dependent on my fafsa. So if our efc increases it might go away. Bleh this is tough

I don’t really understand the package. How do I determine how much we will have to pay per year?

whyorwhynot: The row “VU Financing Option” on your acceptance letters breaks down how much it would cost you per semester/total to attend, IF you were to accept all aspects of your offered package (including work-study and loans.) If you choose not to do work-study or to take out the loans they offer you, you will have to add that to your total cost.

Hope that helps :)

^That definitely did help! If I read everything correctly, then Nova must really love me lol

I’m still a bit confused. I just completed the Stafford Loan quiz, but do I now have to wait for Villanova to refresh my account?

If so: does anyone know how long this will take. And if not: can someone please explain how I can view my award letter?

Nevermind, I found it…

I just got a merit scholarship in the mail today in case anyone else is waiting for one

zman5: Really? I was wondering about when they would send them. If you don’t mid, could I ask where you are located and possibly how much the award was for?

So the VU financing option isn’t a form of aid? It’s just the amount we need to pay?cuz on my letter, it says total aid award: 53,150 which is full tuition I believe.

^^^ Yes. The amount next to VU Financing Option is essentially the amount that they are not covering. It is just a payment plan that you can use to pay that amount.

From what I read on the website, the Federal SEOG is a grant as well? I have two grants listed, and then I suppose the FSEOG.
