Good luck tomorrow everyone! I'm unclear whether the admissions decisions comes with or without financial aid news. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Yes, most acceptance letters come with the financial aid information. For me, the three schools that accepted me all had financial aid information within the package.

Thanks laughalittle! And congratulations!

What about the online notifications? Do they say anything more than admitted, wait-listed, or denied?

Nope–the email just had the admit and FA info came later. However, we didn’t have any of those horrible-sounding admits, followed by FA waitlist letters. The FA in both cases was the same as or better than the PFS. The schools that didn’t have an FA offer for our kid just waitlisted him outright, which I think was much kinder.

Some schools include financial aid information in their e-mail notification.

It’s the evening of March 10 and we live far from the schools dd applied to. We have heard from 3 out of 4 schools. The 2 admit emails do not give any FA information. I am glad my dd is gone this weekend and didn’t want me to call her with news because the FA package is a dealbreaker for us. If dd is OK with waiting I may not share what news I know until we have the FA information to go along with it. So far she has been remarkably even-tempered while awaiting admit/denial notices, which was fortunate since the first notification was a denial. At least now the news is 2 out 3 acceptances.

We are definitely needy financially although we do have an unusual situation. She needs close to a full ride to attend. I liked it better in the old days, when a letter came–in a regular envelope–with all the information together. I think it would be harder to know for 2 or 3 days that she got into her first choice school, only to find out a few days later that she couldn’t afford to attend.
