Hello, are financial aid packages provided in an email that is different from the admissions decision email transmitted to the student? Similarly, on the school portals, will the financial aid package be posted separate and apart from the admissions decision? I hope these questions are clear. Thank you in advance for your experience and guidance!
There isn’t one answer to this question. Every school does things differently. When my oldest son was accepted at Groton we didn’t receive any information on financial aid on 3/10. In that case they only let you know whether you were accepted or not. The financial aid information is mailed via USPS on 3/10. Other schools, however, do this differently. Some have packages which arrive on 3/10, while others give the information in an email.
@Momto4kids - Thank you very much! If only to be lucky enough to have to actually worry about this…
If communicated by email, it’s almost certain that it will come in a email separate from admissions. The admission email is often a generic message sent to every admitted student but the FA one will be carefully tailored. Many schools choose to send FA information in mail. So any fat envelope on or after M10 is a good sign that there’s FA info in it!
We received an email with scanned copy of the snail-mailed acceptance letter in the morning of M10, which included FA details within the letter.
Thank you @panpacific and @SculptorDad !!!
I know we received at least one email that included in the acceptance letter “click the link below to access your Financial Aid details”…
I know two girls schools had the financial aid information in the acceptance letter.
Kent had the financial aid letter on the portal along with the acceptance, for parent/guardian login.
Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate the responses and info!
Any know how NMH delivers fin aid info? Snail mail, portal, fedex, email…
From experience, I received a merit scholarship of $30,000 per year. It came with the admission letter.I did not receive any financial aid letter or notification. I still hope that I receive some financial aid.
Hi! Did anyone receive any financial aid information from Peddie? If so how ?
@cody27, that may be your package. Calling it merit may be the school’s way of calling it a grant. Definitely follow up!
Are you talking about this year’s acceptance letter?
@cody27: You posted in the wrong spot. This is the prep school parents forum – we’re talking about financial aid that came with prep school decisions, which came out yesterday.
Fyi. Just received package from NMH. Arrived by mail. Thanks all!
@zenirkas I received a separate email from Peddie telling me about my son’s acceptance and giving me a link to their portal. The aid letter was on the portal (My Backpack).
Does anyone know when NMH sent out their FA packages? I need to start setting up revisits and I want to know how much I received before we plan on attending revisits or not.
