Financial aid for a certificate program

<p>I'm strongly leaning toward going to UCLA and doing their extension program for a certificate (I already have a bachelors). Can I use financial aid for this, even though I'd be taking one class every 12 weeks? I'd need the refund check to help pay for housing and some living expenses.</p>

<p>Your ability to get student loans will depend on how much you have borrowed as an undergrad. If you have maxed out, you may not be eligible for additional aid.</p>

<p>You may be eligible for Federal Pell Grants and low-interest Federal Stafford Loans. Federal financial aid is only for courses that are part of an applicant’s formally declared qualified program curriculum. In other words, all courses must count toward the award of the selected qualified certificate. To ensure the availability of funds by the time your program begins, initiate the application process four months prior to the start date of the quarter in which you plan to enroll. <p>Have you considered working in the day and taking the extension course at night? This way you can pay out of pocket a couple of courses at a time</p>
