Hi everyone, I just have a quick question about a specific case.
I'm a dependent of an E2 visa holder (have been for 5 years), and will be graduating an American high school in 2012. Even though I'll be regarded as a domestic student in terms of admissions, I will be regarded as an international for financial aid (correct me if I'm wrong). Columbia is need aware towards internationals, so I will have a disadvantage if I ask for financial aid.
My questions are:
how bad will it hurt?
does the amount of aid I require affect my chances?
and how do they determine how much aid I will need? From the CSS Profile, or do I just tell them "I will need XXXX dollars," and in a way, negotiate with them? What is the whole process like?
Also, are there other financial aid/scholarships?

p.s. If you would like to see my speculations in terms of GPA and others, please feel free to PM me. My unweighted GPA is 4.0, weighted is 4.4? or something like that, and my ACT scores were 32 and 33 (E:34->34, M:36->35, R:27->31, S:30->32)

Thanks in advance.
