I am currently attending Northeastern University, just finishing up my freshman year. I am receiving 18,000 in loans and grants from the school. I have an EFC of 0. I need to borrow to cover the difference between the scholarships, loans & grants and the total tuition. I have no credit , limited work history. Can you direct me to an entity where I might secure a loan? Without needing a cosigner.

There is no such thing.

You need to find a qualified co-signer to take on the kind of debt you are looking at.

But, the kind of debt you are considering is almost certainly significantly more than you should be taking on at all. Run the loan repayment calculator here: [FinAid | Calculators](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Calculators - Finaid) And read through the information under the tab labeled “voices” here: [Project on Student Debt: Home](http://projectonstudentdebt.org/) And think long and hard about transferring to a college or university that is affordable for you.

You need to talk to your parents about this. IF they are in any kind of condition to help you out, this is where they can. If they absolutely cannot and have outstanding bills, one can apply for PLUS (parent loan) and when turned down (they can apply on line and the answer is very quick and private, like instantaneous, and if accepted and they do not want to go on, that is that), you can the get additional Stafford unsubsidized loans. I believe it’s an additional $4K. But that is about it. You need to find a job for the difference and see if your parents can chip in a little too.
