Financial Aid in at 3-2 program

D is considering a college that offers a cooperative 3-2 program, to finish with a bachelor's from a great undergraduate program and a professional Masters (nursing).

Does anyone have experience with the financial aid arrangements this kind of situation? Are we likely to be giving up solid financial aid for a 4th year at the college for the early expense of graduate tuition? I fear we might be responsible for this since she might still be considered a dependent undergrad by virtue of not earning the bachelors until both programs are complete.

Thanks for any words of advice or experience.

It depends on the schools. If both schools meet full need, you might be okay for Year 4 . . . or you might not. Year 5 is anybody’s guess. And if both schools do not meet full need, then years 4 and 5 are up in the air.

You need to ask both schools involved exactly how they’d deal with this.
