I'm going to apply to CalTech and also for finaid. It doesn't provide need-blind finaid for internationals. But is it possible that they make decision to inform me that I will be admited if I have money? In that case I can try to find sponsors(they usually require to provide a proof of being ALREADY admitted).

unrelated to your question…what do you mean by sponsors?Co-signer or?

I’m not a hundred percent sure, but from what I know I don’t think they would tell you whether or not they’d admit you if you were willing to pay.

International? Where from?

That’s usually not how it works. If you are applying for financial aid, you will either be admitted with aid or rejected.

That being said, if you think you can find other ways to finance your education, you can apply without seeking financial aid and state that you need a formal offer of admission before you can secure funding from other sources.

In my country it is a rare thing to get to a world-class top university, so they are people willing to help those students. Also there is a specialized fund.

I think you’re right, I think of applying also to some universities offering need-blind asmission for internationals.

A school could also accept you without giving aid, and leave it up to you to figure out where to get the rest of the money if you want to attend.
