Financial aid issues, status, updates

There are reports from students about people being denied their award packages after they are offered, or they are drastically altered so the student must pay the first quarter registration out of pocket. If anyone is having any financial aid issues, this is a good place to share about it. I know for me my aid was approved twice and is now under review again.

Update, they are reviewing the health insurance waiver, so if you are on hold with FA that may be why.

Any idea if the health insurance waiver will change our rewards?

It won’t change your “rewards” but it will change your FA award. If you go to your zotbill and you are already registered for classes you will see the health insurance charge as part of your tuition for the fall quarter.

Once you are approved for the waiver an additional line will appear on your financial aid award letter that shows the waiver has been applied to your account to offset that fee that’s on your zotbill hence why you have to go back and reconfirm your aid award every time they modify it.

Until you confirm any award changes those awards aren’t sent over to the business office and you are responsible for any fees due. That’s why they say you must register for at least 6 units and then accept your award to have your fees paid.

so when on earth does the Cal Grant get confirmed, school has already applied part of pell and irvine grants to fall fees
