UVa just improved its Financial Aid Program (called Access UVA). Now more low-income kids are eligible for a completely debt-free education at The University of Virginia. Here's an article about the improvements:

U.VA. TO OFFER MORE FINANCIAL AID
*****By Sandra Yin of the Hampton Roads Daily Press

Is it possible that a family that qualifies for no need-based financial aid, can attend UVA and graduate with a maximum debt of $16,000??? It seems too good to be true!

I know this is an old thread, but it really does seem to good to be true. My family has an EFC over the amount for out-of-state tuition, yet my parents say that we cannot even pay a fourth of our EFC. It doesn't seem like the whole ending up with 16,000 in loans would apply to my family, but I hope it does.

i wouldnt worry about it jordan

Why shouldn't I worry charlie?
