Merit aid for transfers?

IS there merit aid for transfers at this school?

I’m not sure about merit aid, but through AccessUVA they often offer a nice financial aid program relying more on need-based grants than student loans. Basically, they guarantee as much money for 4 years using a cost of attendance minus EFC formula. As an OOS transfer, this was the only way I was able to afford to go. Did I leave with debt? Sure, but it pales in comparison to what I saved.

is there merit aid for anyone at this school? …no. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-virginia/457610-merit-scholarships-besides-jefferson-scholars.html

My aid package was 8% grant 92% loan so I believe it varies. I’m an self supporting independent without other means or family members to rely on.

hazelorb, there are a handful of half and full tuition scholarships handed out to students in the school of engineering and applied sciences. these are purely merit based.

that’s pretty cool!! are there links about those publicized? are they only for upperclassmen? are they merit at uva or merit in hs based? i’ve never heard of any of them, even as a cs101 ta!

they’re not publicized at all, i came across them being mentioned in one of dean j’s old blog posts though. they’re for first years (so merit in hs), and students are chosen for the scholarship by the director of the rodman scholars program i believe
