Curious question: did you guys also see the same message in the accept/decline FA page?

Yes 10 char

Okie dokie, just checking. hmm, I’ve been thinking about this not having to do with admissions at all, but I seriously doubt the FA dept. would bother going through all those files for applicants who were going to get rejected anyway…
Just my two cents.
Also I just received an email from the FA dept. I sent them an email asking if they had everything they needed since there was still a request on Albert, and they said that they finished processing my documents and that I will receive an offer if admitted. I wondering if this is a good/bad sign or I’m just reading too far into all this :S I hate anxiety.

@HangingOnStars you seem to be strung as high as a kite tbh. Just relax, most likely the overwhelming majority of candidates have already had their fates determined given decisions go out Friday. At this point we can’t do anything more (short of flying up to the campus and making a scene - which would probably backfire on us) but wait. Stop reading into so much detail -micro-analyzing just gets us more wound up.

Man, whoever came up with this theory outta get punched in the face. lol

I was so happy and content about being done with college stuff for a few months and yesterday I get on and saw this and I couldn’t control myself and now I am kinda worried. ugh!

^^ My original thoughts. But I guess we can’t blame them too much (whoever re-started it for this pool) cause nervous college applicants inches away from a breakdown have been known to just overreach at the silliest things or worse yet, try and make something out of nothing.

You know the saying that when you basically give to much breathing room for a rumor it becomes true. One should seriously try to prevent that from happening.

@naturzen
I don’t know where the “rumor” came from, but it has held up quite well. The moment I see a pure exception, I’ll discount this whole thing as an illusory correlation. Till then, it might be more productive to conduct some research rather than poo-poo a very probable theory with hearsay.

It would be wise of you all not to apply your own conceptions of the admissions process to the actual goings-on of the NYU admissions system. We won’t know for sure until the results return, but ignoring a potential early hint at your admissions decisions and refraining from finding counter-evidence will leave you one more closed door as your pre-decision stress mounts.

hey i didn’t apply for financial aid but i got mine to switch to the 2014 - award access not available. will let you guys know if i get in and if this glitch actually means anything about acceptance.

@oblivionhammer Now I am more freaked out than ever!

Here’s what I want to do right now. I want to hop on a plane, take a cab to NYC, walk over to the admissions department and camp there with picket signs until my soul is fed with valuable information. This is slowly seeming more and more like deliberate torture to me. </3
