Hey! I was just wondering what a good fin. aid. pack. is from Chapman. For some reason I feel like the one I received is a little on the unfair side. My family has an EFC of about $9,700 and this is what Chapman gave me

$23,000 of Grant
$3,000 Federal Work Study
$5,550 Loans (mixture of Stafford loans)
$4,000 Parent PLUS loan
TOTAL AID= $35,500 but a HUGE portion of that is LOANS. Total COA is like $51,000

If you subtract the amount of NO STRINGS ATTACHED money they are giving me, it comes to be able $28,000 a year. That's a lot.. no? What did other people get?

wow, i would expect them to give you more aid besides loans seeing your EFC. where did you find this detailed financial package? i recently got accepted and got the packet but only saw the scholarship that i got offered.

Honestly, we don’t know your grades or anything else you’ve got going for you, so we can’t fairly answer this. They’re going to give more money to their most competitive students. If you have a 4.0, it may be unfair depending on your extracurriculars. If you have a 3.0 and barely got in based on other things you have going for you, then it’s fair.

For the record, I was given about $20k no-strings-attached money plus the maximum loans and Work Study. My EFC is around $18.5k

I’m sorry you can’t “fairly” answer this question. I don’t know WHAT I was thinking posting this!!

Relax. That wasn’t supposed to be rude. I’m just taking into account confounding variables.

Well it sounded snooty, but I’m over it. Haha. I’m calling them and asking because they are supposed to be 100% need met, and my need isn’t met

Well, I’m sorry it sounded snooty. I really didn’t mean it that way.
Call them. You can bargain with them involving other FinAid offers too.
