Is this a good package? I plan on attending Cal State, Long Beach but I am an OOS student so that would barely cover my tuition so I would obviously have to be a commuter. Another question.. how would I calculate how much debt I would be in when I graduated, assuming I only go for my bachelors and graduate within 4-5 years? Plus, I would think I could get in-state tuition after 1 or maybe 2 years in CSULB because my mom has been living in California for the past 2 years. I was living with my dad for high school though, in Vegas, which is why when I applied to CSULB I had to pay OOS tuition.
Can anyone help?

You need to check with the CSULB Registrar/enrollment office, because I believe you are eligible for in-state tuition immediately, as long as your mother is currently a California resident.

As we all know, the CA system of colleges is pretty destitute due to the looming budget cuts. From our own experience as California state residents sending a kid off to college, I think your financial aid package is as good as it gets in the CSU system. I don’t believe they give much more than the Pell Grant and Ed. Opp Grant as “free” money, the rest of the aid being commonly made up of loans and work/study just like yours. CSULB is a very good school, one of the better of that level of CA. public school in my opinion. Congratulations on your acceptance and award $$!
