I spoke with FA - FA offer will come separately and should be within 10 days of admission letter. In the meantime I am to send tax returns in (last time I spoke with them, they said they didnt want tax returns until June). Have you all been asked to send in tax returns yet?

Glad to hear FA will come separately. D only got $5,000 in merit so we are hoping for a miracle with FA.
kitkat - we were asked to submit taxes and CSS business supplement about 10 days before the acceptance came.

Interesting. It would have been so much easier to have sent them along with CMU and Emory! (and stupid me, I had them PDF'd and deleted them off my machine - so will need to recopy).

Got my FA package this week and was pretty disappointed: $6,000 scholarship and only about $4,000 in aid plus some loans. My dad's planning on talking with an FA counselor about our family situation to see if we can get any more aid though. Normally I'd discourage him since most schools say that they don't like to negotiate, but he did the same thing for Syracuse and the counselor there gave us $10,000 more a year just from talking over the phone.

yeah, i was planning on trying to negoiate too. did your dad call syracuse? I was trying to decide if I should call, or my parents. thanks

Yeah, my dad called Syracuse and spoke with a financial aid counselor, just to explain some special circumstances about his income and stuff that the forms don't address. It was probably better in our case that he called because it was his income they were discussing.

Finally got the FA package today. It is ludicrously inadequate in comparison to EFC and to other schools. Little doubt that he'll be freeing up a spot and a scholarship for someone else.

I got my FA package today the total was 35000. i don't know what to think right now. I'm between boston college, university of maryland and rochester. i still have to hear from those other two.

Although Rochester gave me a great package, I received a better offer from Tufts. I hope the money Rochester had allotted for me goes to someone else!
