Financial Aid question regarding tax returns.

I'm going to be a senior in high school next year and I was wondering if when applying for financial aid you have to use your 2008 federal income tax returns, or can you use your 2009-2010 ones? The reason for this is because my parents are now in a really bad financial situation and I think it will only be fair to account for the present situation. Even though my question was only generally speaking, but can I use the 2009-2010 ones for QuestBridge, or do they have a due date for financial aid forms before you are able to do the 2009 ones?

You will use the most recent tax year to file for aid for the following year. So, 2008 taxes are used only for 09/10 aid, 2009 will be used for 10/11, etc. Usually you can use estimates if you file before taxes are completed and then you make corrections later. I don’t know how the Questbridge forms work though.

Thanks for the info, I know that I will be able to qualify for QuestBridge with our current financial situation, but I am doubtful when it comes to last year. If anyone knows anything about this regarding QuestBridge please let me know.

Simple–call Questbridge.
