I was wondering if we can use the 2009 taxes for the 2011-2012 fafsa application?
And if we fill it all out with the 2009 do we submit it, and then change the info when we receive the 2010 information?
Or are we not allowed to change it after we submit?
I want to fill it out ASAP so I can try receiving as much aid as possible.
Thank You

You can use estimated income information, then change it when you file taxes. If your 2009 and 2010 income are more or less the same then use the 2009 data. If you know there are substantial differences then adjust the estimate to reflect this.

Assets should be accurate as of the day you file FAFSA.

Ok thank you, so when I do finish doing this, I do submit it?
And I will be able to make any changes afterwards?

Yes. You should select “will file” when it asks about whether you have filed taxes yet. Then after you do file taxes, go back and update the information and change the tax return status to “filed”.
