Financial Aid Question...URGENT!

In the financial aid packet, it said that and I quote “the amount of financial aid that you receive after the first year may vary, reflecting changes in your family’s financial situation, the costs of attending Brandeis, and the availability of funding, which may affect the amount of your Alumni and Friends scholarship or Trustee Scholarship from year to year. You should expect the amount of loan and work in your package to increase as your progress through your academic career at Brandeis”.

Is this true? Are there any Brandeis undergraduates who has experienced with this? And also, do they significantly increase the loan and decrease the scholarship?

From what I've been told, they increase your work-study award a lot from your first-year to your sophomore year and so on. They think as you get more adjusted to college, you are able to work more hours.

I assume loans also increase as you get old b/c they assume you are closer to being independent, and thus more able to pay off loans.

That statement is not too unlike packages awarded by every other college.

i would contact financial aid at sfs@brandeis.edu or 781-736-3700. they usually get back to you quickly
