ncbug19: About the no loans this is what the website says:
Tulane is committed to making a world-class education accessible to all students who qualify to attend, regardless of family income. Tulane offers “no loan” tuition to students whose families have adjusted gross incomes less than $75,000 per year and who complete the two required financial aid application forms (the FAFSA and the CSS Profile) by the suggested deadline of February 15th. For qualifying students, Tulane ensures that the cost of tuition, fees and transportation will be met with a combination of Tulane scholarship, the family’s institutional expected family contribution (EFC), and certain federal grants and/or ROTC scholarship.

That’s just what the website says though, here’s the link: [Tulane Admission: Financial Aid](http://admission.tulane.edu/aid/financialaid.php)

Also I’m actually in Illinois, when your grandmother is the youngest of 7 there’s a lot of cousins. It is nice to have family there, but the other school I’m looking at (Wellesley) my family is about 2 hours away too so its really hard to decide I still haven’t heard from a couple other East Coast schools but I’m not expecting much. Honestly as far as Paul Tulane goes I think I just had some decent essays. I’m a really verbal/writing centered person so they come easy to me. Math on the other hand…

fallenchemist: Thanks for the input and the prompt answer! I’m glad to know the advising center is actually helpful, because some other schools don’t have a strong help base for student internships and the like.

So, just to clarify, Tulane gives an additional $2000 per year to NMFs who are also recipients of full tuition awards (DHS and Paul Tulane scholarships)? Does anyone know? Seems quite generous, yes?

Yes, they do. My D has the DHS full tuition scholarship and gets $1,000 towards the beginning of each semester because of her NMF status. The fall one usually shows up in early October I think, while the spring semester check is more like the middle of January.

Has anyone else not received their financial aid package yet?

I wouldn’t be (too) concerned if you haven’t. I sent in my FAFSA on January 15th, and they processed it March 19th. I think they’re just slow.

Emmymillions: Thanks so much! So if my mom’s income is way way way below that, then I should be covered for sure right? I’m so stressed out about all of this. I just can’t wait to know for sure where I’m going.

Well at least wherever you go you know you’ll have people looking out for you. Haha we have a ton in common it sounds like. I’m also big on the reading/writing and not so much on the math. I applied to all schools in the south, so my family won’t be too far away. Of course the one school my family really wants me to go to (Davidson) is about 4 minutes from my house, which I think will be just a tad bit too close for me. But we’ll see how it all works out. Good luck with everything! It will be over soon.

@ncbug19 Haha, I know the feel of “too close”: That’s Northwestern and U of C for me. I hope you figure out what school you really want to go too! We’ll both end up where we’re supposed to be, at least that’s how I’m looking at it right now. I’m glad to have helped a bit, though!

Thank you, and yes we’ll both end up at the perfect place. You’ll have to let me know where you end up for sure! You’ve been a huge help, thank you so much.
