<p>Hi, I have recieved aid in a form of a pell grant. This semester I paid 487.10 out of my pocket because I did the fafsa application late. <p>What I am trying to figure out is why am I only getting a check for $50 when I was awarded 1,077 and my classes came out to be $487?</p>

<p>It looks like you were awarded $1077 per YEAR, or $539 per semester. They are sending you the difference between $539 and $487.10, or $50.90.</p>

<p>Thats what came to mind too, but what you see is for the this semester. Last semester I was awarded 539.</p>

<p>I am confused about why you paid out of pocket for this semester - the FAFSA you already filed for 2007-2008 school year covers this semester - I must be missing something.</p>

<p>Anyway check with your school what their plocy on refunding excess financial aid is. At my daughters school any excess is paid to her by check at the end of the 1st billing month. Some schools may do it differently. You need to go into the bursars office and talk to them or call them.</p>

<p>I dont understand what u are asking so ill just tell you the story. I paid last semester and this semester out of my pocket. This semester I decided to file for aid for this school year, i filled for aid around january 20th and i finally have been reimbursed. do u get it?</p>

<p>OK - I did not realize you could apply for aid and get it retrospectively for a previous semester. You do need to talk to your bursars office. I would expect you to be paid the full amount of your pell grant if you have paid up all the expenses due. Check with your bursars office what their policy is for when they refund it to you.</p>
