Financial Aid Requests

I would love to go to Fordham, but my family and I are low on money. Has anyone else tried writing a letter to request more financial aid? I wrote a letter and e-mailed Ms. Wakie a week ago, but I haven't gotten any word back yet.

I wrote in last year… I wrote a really long email and everything. They responded “No.” And that was it.

I wrote a really long letter that I sent to FA, and admissions. Then I personally handed it to Mr. Farrell at an admitted students banquet. It was asking for more based on merit, however, and I explained that I had two full rides to other colleges (one at least very comparable to Fordham), but only 13k from Fordham. I put a lot of work into as Fordham is (was?) my dream school and I did get a personal reply from Mr. Farrell as well as FA. I had to fax the other letters to FA and they raised my award by 7k. Not enough to make Fordham possible, but Fordham did seem to take serious consideration of my request, and that’s all one can ask for.

I’m in the same boat. I would love to go to Fordham and sent a letter but they never even replied.

That’d odd. What address did you send it to? I’d suggest faxing it directly to the FA office, whichever campus you applied to, fax numbers being here:

[Contact Financial Aid](http://www.fordham.edu/tuition__financial_a/undergraduate_studen/contact_financial_ai_2098.asp)

Make sure you include an official looking fax cover.

If you have not received your letter, give them a call. They might have responded to it, but not actually have contacted you… That’s Fordham finaid for you.

(Don’t let that ruin Fordham for you – no other office is THAT disorganized/messy/dumb.)
