<p>Yeah, it is weird since the two are very different schools. I don’t like the idea of going to a big school, but…I don’t know. If I go to Oberlin, I’d probably have to pay 7k more per year, but I still have yet to convince my parents. They just want me to attend Cal, for the prestige. I’m really not sure if Oberlin is worth it. :/</p>

<p>This is off topic from the post but kids that attend the High School for 4 years get to go to Oberlin College tuition free but only if your accepted. Something I’ve learned after living here for 18 years.</p>
<p>I sent an appeal letter to the Financial Aid Committee on Tuesday (fax), then checked PRESTO on Saturday morning. To my surprise and joy, Obie had more than doubled my D’s Oberlin College Grant. The snail mail notification probably won’t arrive here until Tuesday or Wednesday, but we already know.</p>
<p>You betcha! The deposit is in the mail. The increased grant plus the John F. Oberlin Scholarship are enough to take care of year one anyway. She has work study too.</p>
