Financial Aid Woes

Hello Everybody,

Unfortunately, I did not realize that the FAFSA, CSS Profile, and Student Financial Aid Worksheet were all due tomorrow for early applicants because everywhere I looked said the FAFSA deadline was February 1st, but I got a letter from one of my early action colleges yesterday saying that all financial aid stuff was due on the 15th which freaked me out and I checked all of my early colleges which said the same thing. However, my parents are now telling me that we probably will not apply for financial aid at all, however I indicated on all of my apps that I would and even got the free application for UChicago so now I am freaking out even more over how they will react. Of course I am going to inform each college, but I am afraid that this will show disinterest because if I am not trying to get any money to help go there, they'd probably just think I am no longer interested. Any help on what to do and how the colleges will react would be so greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long rant, but I'm just so worried. :(

Schools don’t care whether you apply for FA or not, but if you want FA apply by the 15th.

UChicago doesn’t require the CSS profile does it? Student Financial Worksheet just had a couple of questions last year so if the same can be done in a snap, and FAFSA is VERY easy to complete and file in a day. You still have time

BTW, could be wrong here but isn’t FA info. only due tomorrow if you applied ED? That’s because they send along your aid package in plenty of time for you to review before you commit (that deadline usually being one month from the acceptance letter). EA is another matter as you can obviously compare to other schools and needn’t get back to them till May 1st.
