I am very interested in Fordham, and have already applied, however, I'm not sure how they distribute their financial aid. Do they give as little as NYU? Also would they offer a good amount of aid to a very low income student?

None of us works for admissions or financial aid (that I know of) – Fordham is generally considered to be more generous with merit aid as compared to NYU, but every case will be different so you should cast a wide net when you apply and be sure to include some financial safeties. I’d also run a net price calculators (can be found online) for each college you consider to get a rough idea of how the numbers might fall out.

NYU is known for not giving money, and we found that to be true. Fordham is more generous if they want you. Agree with spirit77 in that you need to have some financial safeties. Good luck.
