Financial aid

I have not received a financial aid statement from Bryn Mawr yet, through snail mail, email, or their virtual portal.

I am very concerned as the May 1st deadline is approaching!

My parents are divorced. Mom has been unemployed (disabled) and we live with her parents. Father in another country, does not contribute. Called BMC a “school for spoilt girls” <notice his="" misspelling="">.</notice>

My mother contacted BMC about my father’s missing CSS documents (he did not want to fill them out) and has not heard back from the financial aid office yet.

However, for MOSAIC/Open Campus, Bryn Mawr gave me a travel scholarship.

Is that a good sign?
Am I currently still able to be a candidate for financial aid?
Am I still able to be considered for various scholarships as defined in the BMC fin.aid. handbook, such as the 125th anniversary scholarship?

What sort of packages (breakdown by grants/work study/loans/etc.) have other people received this year?

Currently, mother’s income/assets: 0, same for me. If we didn’t live with her parents, we’d be legit homeless.

The good news is that Bryn Mawr is pretty good about late documents. I submitted supporting documents for my financial aid application as late as July once, and it did not affect my eventual financial aid award.

The bad news is that this first financial aid award is time-sensitive for you, as you need to decide which college to attend. I hope you’ll get everything sorted out in time. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

I received a reply from BMC, can a mod delete this?
