Financial Aid

I was accepted EA for class of 2016, and I did the CSS profile back in November and got my estimated aid from UChicago when I found out my admission. The figure seemed low, but we just assumed that maybe Chicago didn't give a lot of aid and that I was out of luck.

Well, when filling out the FAFSA today, my dad realized that he had overestimated the "2011 income" on the CSS to the tune of $25,000 on the high end, as he had misunderstood and included retirement on that space.

I am wondering if this would make much of a difference in how much aid I will be receiving from UChicago. Does anyone have any sort of background that would allow them to have an idea about this? I have already emailed my admissions officer, and we will be in contact with College Aid probably this week.

You should contact the Office of College Aid at college-aid@uchicago.edu or 773-702-8666 about this issue-- they will certainly be able to assist you and let you know which steps you should take from here. Your admissions counselor will likely not be able to help you with these questions, as our admissions counselors are not involved in the financial aid process.

Okay cool, my admissions counselor said that she forwarded the email to the Office of College Aid, so I think I am on the right track, thanks!
