Does anyone know when you are notified of Financial Aid awards?

UNC web site says they will start in early March

In general, the earlier you submit your information, the earlier you will receive your aid package. I submitted mine a bit before the deadline and got my package in early April.

Also… do you have to accept admission before being notified??

You do not.

I got my package!! I got a total of 13,829 in aid. ~10,000 in grants and the rest are just a combination of loans (perkins and subsidized).

UNC2016 - can you share your FAFSA score ?

@prdparent: I’ll share mine. EFC=13642; Grant: 6000; subsidized loan: 3225. COA: 20,660 + tuition increase for this year.

I’m very happy about it.

I think they started issuing financial aid packages this week.
I submitted the FAFSA/CSS right before March 1st, and just finished sending in my forms for verification last week and I got my estimated package today. (I wasn’t expecting to hear anything until April). You should get an email when your estimate or final package is online.

I sent in my CSS and FAFSA in the beginning of February, and I just received my financial aid package on Tuesday, the 13th. So you’re package should arrive within the next two weeks depending on how early you sent the information.

When logging into CarolinaConnection, only admission application confirmation appears. How can you check that financial aid application was received. I sent the FAFSA by Feb. 15 and the CSS by Mar. 1 but have not received any confirmation. How can I check thay UNC has received the information and that they are not awaiting anything from us ? CarolinaConnection mentions emailing requests to the UNC email , but is that for current students? How does one access email as a guest id? Any information would be so helpful!

You can always email the office of financial aid and ask, but usually if you have something missing you’ll have a “Financial Aid” link under your To Do list (right hand side of the screen when you log into ConnectCarolina. Click on that and it will tell you what you need to do. Good luck!
