I was admitted to UMBC quite some time ago, but I still have not heard anything regarding need-based financial aid (loans, grants, etc.)
I have received a scholarship, but I have not heard anything about what sort of loans, work study, or anything like that I would receive. I have checked myumbc and have not received anything in the mail
Has anyone heard back?

Son was accepted in Feb and just got his financial aid package last week. We got an email saying it was online. Hope you get it soon!

Mine was on-line on March 27th.

Call Financial Aid. Odds are something’s missing from your documents, and odds are they just haven’t told you because they’re bad at keeping up with students. Financial Aid at UMBC is a pain, but it’s something that everyone has to deal with. Call them or head to the Financial Aid office if you’re in the area, otherwise it’ll never be addressed.

Call the financial aid office at your earliest convenience and explain the situation. I have dealt with various fin. aid offices with different children. In my experience, I have found that regular communications with the fin. aid officers is a benefit. It also does not hurt to say “thank you” to the person from time to time. It is not an easy job. For my eldest child, the financial aid officer went above and beyond merely because I was pleasant to him.

UMBC financial aid office replied within few hours of emailing. Based on my experience, UMBC’s finaid office responds much better than many other univs.
