How's the financial aid? Did anyone use the net price calculator? Was it accurate?

I’m a current student at Georgetown, and I have to say that they were pretty generous in my case. Even though I was admitted as a transfer student (and we generally don’t receive a lot of financial aid), I was actually given a good-sized scholarship and subsidized loans that made Georgetown an affordable choice. I can’t speak for the accuracy of the net price calculator, however - only from personal experience.

This is what I’ve concluded from speaking with my peers(I’m a freshman):

People who are basically broke got great financial aid packages. A good number of us got no loans in our packages. If you qualify for a federal pell grant (people who’s EFC is really low), you are more than likely going to great package.

People who are middle class and up got the opposite effect. They constantly complain about how Georgetown was “stingy”. There are some kids (rich kids) whose families are paying full price.

Their packages are need based so the above only makes sense. Like the above poster I never used the net price calculator so IDK. Hope I helped!
