Now that some of the financial aid information has been posted, I have a question to the current students/families that are attending Fordham. Our applicant received merit which is earned for 4 years if requirements are maintained, but also received Fordham grant (which happened to be the same amount as the merit). If things remain relatively the same for our finances, does Fordham tend to offer the same amount of aid all 4 years? We hear that some colleges offer it the first year and then it disappears subsequent years. Also…is Fordham open to petitions for more financial aid support?
From my own experience, my FA has pretty much stayed the same. The only thing that changed was a grant from Fordham, but we knew that was non renwable. It’s just a matter of filling out the paperwork each year to make sure you get aid.
You can appeal, which is what my parents did. The catch is the university will want all of your financial information, more than what’s on the FaFSA and CSS.
For us it has stayed the same. Have to maintain a certain GPA to keep scholarship but the grant amount has never changed in the past three years. As in incoming freshman we had to fill out the FAFSA and CSS profile and submit copies of bank statements, tax returns, 1099’s to the university when asked. But for subsequent years just the FAFSA.
