Can you tell me whether Washington and Lee is generous in giving out scholarship to international students. If possible, can you give me the approximate number of international students accepted with satisfactory financial aid?

I'm an international and will be starting this fall. They gave me how much I asked for in scolarship, a couple of thousand more actually. So, I'll be paying 2300$ (including work study) in the first year and 1400$ in my second year (work study doubles). I've spoken to a couple of other internations who've gotten pretty attractive need based packages too.

Statistics wise, 26 students held foreign citizenship from 20 countries in the 2006 batch. How many were aided among these, I don't know.

In the 2004 batch, their comprehensive cost was 31,350$. The total number of international students on campus was 67, out which 55 were aided with an average of 22,768$.

So, yeah, if you are accepted, they can be pretty generous with their aid package. W&L has been trying to increase on campus diversity, which works for applying internationals.

Hope that helps.

Thanks you so much for you important data. It really helps me a lot
