financial aid

can some people give me perspectives on financial aid. i would definitely need it to attend colby. would it help that i'm one of the minorities they try to recruit (asian-american)?

gonzo,
According to Colby's adm rep a few posts down: "Colby's financial aid is need-based, with no merit or athletic scholarships available at any point of our process. No student is at a disadvantage based on race, ethnicity, or creed, as our awards consider a family's relative financial strength, not the level of interest in our institution. "

Being a URM might give you an admissions boost because Colby and the other Maine colleges are always looking for qualified URM students who wish to attend their colleges -- especially in the winter!

I would contact the adm office for specific examples of their financial aid package to get a good feel for your family's need and the college's finaid.

Good luck.

colby also has special scholarships for URMs...many are full-ride
