has anyone who applied EA gotten their financial aid packeages yet?

nope ... (10 char)

Son accepted EA and received FA award today. Billed costs for 2007/2008 are $43,159. Aid awarded was disappointing indeed.

My Sweet Babboo, did you receive this via email or regular mail? And what is the rough breakdown of the billed costs, if you don't mind.

yeh i was accepted early action.. got 5,000 academic award.. 6,000 fin aid grant, 5,000 loan...the cost is kinda ridiculous when u think about it.. pretty disappointed but it makes me feel a lot better about my decision to attend another school

this was directed at my sweet babboo but i figured id chime in.. i received an email to log onto my application status checker and my financial aid award would be listed

Thanks senior

We didn't receive the email, but I just checked on the application status and the financial aid offer was there.....pretty disappointing as well considering the cost. Only $6,000 per year with loans and work study added. Still waiting on one more school..... I don't think that one will be much better!

Received same package as senior o7 plus work-study.
Tuition - 31,500
R&B - 11,010
Fees, fees & more fees - 649

UConn is looking better and better...

no email, but I checked application status. There is a new decision document between admission letter and scholarship letter-financial aid award. I open letter- it is dated 12/15/06 and says award will be available in March! I am confused...

i got mine today via email. they didnt meet my EFC. kinda dissapointed

pharmmom, same exact scenario as you have.

My son's was listed on the Admissions portal (not the myNeu thing). That uses the Admissions ID and DOB for password. It was under Financial Aid and was dated March 15. It fell about $3000 short.

redsox fan - Be sure your subtracting your EFC from the total costs and then subtracting out the aid package. That will give you the short fall. (You probably know that -- but just in case.)

I just checked myneu and my application status check...i just have a letter on the application status check thing telling me that fin. aid awards will be available in march..

they were $3500 short with my package

ughh.. I think it said estimated cost for one year is around 45,000
after my scholarship and grant itd still cost like 27,000 so yeah... I dont think I'm going to northeastern.. because some of the other schools on my list list will cost <10,000 total a year
:(

i found that group on facebook and it looks like no one is happy with the money they received, either. perhaps they're giving more to applicants admitted regular decision?

I was admitted ea too. Northeastern was a short of my efc but it was still a pretty good offer. I got the dean's scholarship for 12k a year then another 7k in grant-in-aid and 5k in loans and such. Still makes total costs about 20k or so, but I'm personally pretty happy with my offer. Just got to see what UC throws out for me to make a decision. But it definitely doesn't sound like neu gave out anything huge:-(

I just read on the NEU messageboard that all scholarships and financial aid notifications are out for EA students. We never received an e-mail and the letter dated 12/15/06 saying we would be notified in March is still there. I tried to call admissions but they closed at 4:30. RatedPG ansd StrawberryRed89 do you still show the same?

pharmom: Did you look on line? See my post #13.
