Hi, has anyone been able to log on to “Bear facts”? I have my calnet ID and created a passphrase yesterday but i keep on getting this message that they do not match. ahh, i want to check my financial aid status.

same situation here

I actually did log in...but it took me like a gazillion tries...kept saying it did not match, when I was absolutely positive I entered my passphrase...did you try immediately after you created the passphrase? Because mine did work after about 10 minutes of trying (seriously, like every minute, I thought I had somehow written it down wrong!)...

does berkeley tend to give out more gift aid than UCLA and other california schools?

Ecnerwalc3321: To Californians, yes. To out-of-staters not as much.

Going to Berkeley out-of-state is equivalent to going to a private school. My suggestion is that you do go to private school since private schools have more resources in financial aid.

For Californias, Berkelely is an excellent deal since you pay $23K a year instead of $40k.

FYI, no financial aid info has been posted yet.

eiffelguy: it has been posted for Regents' & Chancellor's Scholars ;)

Well, I believe you. Since I really want to go out of state and have received many fin aid from public schools and many are pretty bad. I was just hoping that Berkeley would be an exception.

In-state Cost on my FinAid Letter = $23224

My Berkeley out-of-state financial aid is horrendous. All loans, no grants. Makes my private college choices look cheaper!

As I said anothersuitcase, finaid from public schools outside your state are not too good.

Geminihop, I stand corrected.

does anyone know when the financial aid info should be accessable?

I'm not a Regents scholar and I've been able to view mine since decisions were released.

Yeah, I got my finaid stuff earlier this week. Not a Regents either.

I got my financial aid today and I don't think I can afford cal >.<
35k unsubsidized loan a year, I'm out of state, do you guys think Berkeley is worth it for me to go at that cost? I need some opinions, thanks
