i got admitted to UCB in 2005-2006 school year. it kind of surprised me because it was my first choice and i am from out of state. but the financial aid they gave me really sucked. at the mean time, i also got into Umichigan with a superb financial package(outofstate as well). I prefer UCB over Umich, so does anybody think i will be able to bargain with UCB to give me more money?

No. Berkeley draws from a pool of talented students already. Losing you (and this is no meant to be offensive) won't be too bad for Berkeley considering they have 3000+ other froshes; now if you have contributed something significant (discovered a new element in the last year), that's a different matter. Public schools don't do well with negotiations for finaid. Tale the offer from Ann Arbor. You graduate debt free and can do graduate work elsewhere.

Can we look at our financial package info online? I still havent gotten my package in the mail yet.

Yes. In fact, your finaid is exclusively online I believe.

Where is it? The same page as our decision was?

~I received my FinAid Packet in the mail...and on-line
~pinkearmufs: go to your checklist for instructions of your decision website

my fin aid package also sucked. Out of state.

mine is no good either, also out of state. ecnerwalc3321, are you going ? I'm not so sure after this fin aid package. ; [

I soooooooo wanted to go. Engineering. I wouldn't mind paying some money but that's too much. Now, probably not. I'm almost forced to go to Vanderbilt due to their extremely generous aid. (It's even cheaper than my state schools) :(
