Financial Aid

If I let a school know that I will not be asking for Financial Aid (especially a private school), will that make me look more appealing considering the economic crisis we're in?

thanks

it depends on whether the school is needs-blind or not. a school who is needs-blind doesn’t take into consideration whether you can pay or not into your admissions decision.

“Colleges routinely boast about being “need blind” in admissions, meaning that they consider applicants without regard to their ability to pay. But even if they are need blind, and a new survey suggests they are, that may be very different from being an institution that any academically qualified student can actually attend.”
