OK I’m going to apply for Tisch’s MT program next year and I’m just wondering how much financial aid i will get. I mean if they only give me like 10,000, i probably won’t even audition because i wouldn’t be able to pay the tuition. I live with my grandma who is retired so I’ll get at least some, but i live out of state and idk if thats a factor for NYU’s financial Aid. Anyone know how much i should be expected to get? Thank you

Nobody here can tell you how much financial aid you will get. You can use the FAFSA formulas to figure out your family’s expected family contribution to give you some idea, although NYU doesn’t meet 100% of need.

In or out of state has NO bearing on financial aid. NYU is a private university. There are NO financial advantages for students from the State of New York.

tennis, even if you told us what the FAFSA formula said your EFC (expected family contribution) was, we would have absolutely no way of knowing if you would get scholarships and grants totalling $10K or more. As soozievt said, NYU does not promise and cannot meet 100% of need, so even if your parents/family can contribute zero, it doesn’t mean that you will get $10K or more in grants and scholarships (stuff you don’t have to pay back.) Loans are a part of financial aid. Maybe you can do what my kid did: apply and audition, understanding that if the financial aspect doesn’t work out, you can’t go.
