I just got my statement of financial aid in the mail today and my family and I are a little confused.

Having subtracted the expected contribution(s) and the total offer made by the college from the cost of attendance, there still remains a difference of $1600. Do we have to pay the extra or will the college pay for it? We don't exactly know where that goes in the Wellesley financial scheme of things >_<

Hmm… I would call the finaid office and ask just so you know everything ends up right. Or you could post to the Financial Aid discussion forum on the MyWellesley portal.

Perhaps someone else here knows more about how financial aid works… Good luck!

Are you sure you don’t have a $1600 loan? That’s the exact amount of the loan for freshmen who qualify for financial aid but whose families have an income too high for their no-loan policy.

Well I rejected that loan, so I figured it would be included somewhere else
Anyway, my mom called up the office and had stuff explained to her, so everything’s fine now.
