Financial Aid

What is the experience with Rochester's Financial Aid Policy?
Are Merit and Need based Aid both available?
How is EFC arrived at? FAFSA, CSS - either or both??
Is home equity considered an 'asset' ?
Is altogether 'free ride' possible for very valued High Stat, low income, student w/outstanding EC's & recs. ? (think 'Ivy' material?)

Inquiring mind wants to know!

Don’t know.
Yes.
CSS, although the number will most likely be different from the collegeboard/whatever calculator.
Yes.
Yes.

I’m in the same boat. When I visited they said that they don’t offer merit based aid, but you have to wonder, if they really want you they may make it happen and suddenly your need is greater. Does anyone know?

University of Rochester offers merit aid, and quite a significant amount, too.
