<p>Hey, I was recently admitted to American University. I received my notification in the mail in a large blue packet. I applied for financial aid but there was no mention of it. I should defiantly receive some sort of award. Has this happened to anyone else?? Doe anyone know when financial aid will come?</p>

<p>It was less that 50k, so i’m just confused as to why there was no mention to it.</p>
<p>well yeah efc of about 50k doesn’t qualify you for any FA because it costs 50k for the school, which means you can afford the school. people with efc of 20k got about 7k of FA. If you do call, the most you’d get would probably be like $500-1k</p>

<p>oh wow, my dad’s income is a little over 40k and we got almost 49k in aid without scholarships, you should have gotten a lot of money too! There’s definitely a mistake somewhere. Definitely call! They might be on spring break now, but still call.
Are you sure you sent in all of your things? Did you do your FAFSA and CSS on time?</p>
<p>yes, I sent in all of the required materials on time. Thats why I was so shocked when I didn’t see anything. I was expecting a decent award. And nice job on that award!! I’m glad to hear that.</p>
<p>Yeah Lobtser515 I didn’t recieve news about any aid either. Something got messed up on my FAFSA apparently but they didn’t let me know about it until after the deadline. I sent in my CSS and other stuff though, and I’m eligible for tution exchange scholarship, but if I don’t get that I probably won’t be able to go :/</p>

<p>wow you’re so lucky! my family’s EFC is like 5,700, and I only got about 22 grand in aid, which sounds nice…but if you subtract that from the 52 grand a year, it’s like 30 grand a year, which I don’t think is worth it…</p>

<p>^ Hope4thebest I’m in the same situation as you… my EFC is 4,500 and American only gave me about 24 grand a year… way too expensive for me to take out loans :(</p>
