So I recently sent the financial aid office additional information, and they increased my award, but changed my work-study job to student employment. What's the difference between the two?

Also, I tried logging onto Lionshare, but for some unknown reason it's not letting my log in. What should I do now?

workstudy is federal. If you ask for a job, school will give u the job over a casual worker. You will be paid by the government and taxed lightly. Student employment will put you amongst the casual workers. Little to null priority in terms of job placement. but if you know the right people and/or dept. you can prob find a job. Oh and you will be taxed regularly.

One more question, generally what types of jobs are available for work study/student employment? Thanks!

workstudy has that nifty website which shows that it monopolizes practically all the jobs across campus. casual workers actually have to be a little more proactive and go out and search for jobs. But sometimes, workstudy jobs are offered along with their casual counterparts. One i can think of is the security attendant for dorms. but again, workstudy takes priority.
