Financial Issues + Stanford, Ivies, UCB, etc. = HELP!!!

If you guys could answer the questions down below, that’d I’d greatly appreciate it? I’m super stuck about all of this…

  1. As of now, I only know that UC’s take a student’s income status into consideration for admission. So how much will my low-income status (~50k/year) boost my chances for, let’s say, UCB?

  2. Are there any other colleges that favor low-income students if their application is well competitive/justifiable?

  3. How do I mention my low-income status on my application? Am I supposed to let my school counselor know before she writes my LOR?

  4. I live in a wealthy community, sometimes referred to as the “bubble”. All of my friends/peers’ parents make ~$150k or above (some kids’ parents in my school even make 200-400k, omg…). As for me, my parents only make ~$50k. The reason that I’m mentioning this is because my counselor isn’t even aware of my financial situation since she’s probably assuming that I’m like the other kids in my school and colleges will just search up my zip code/school to judge my financial situation. What do I do in this case???

Here’s my entire application if you guys want to evaluate any further, thanks!

Please help a fellow low-income kid out; I can’t ask my teachers/friends about this because none of them are in my situation.

50k is not “low income”. It’s median family income. So it’s not going to give u a boost.

BUMP

Here is thing which some posters are not acknowledging, while it might not assist you in per se admission, at 50k, you would pay literally nothing at all at the top Ivies. In fact, the cutoff for total need, tuition and room and board, is around 75k, so, if you had the scores and grades, you are much better off at these places, financially that is, than your state schools.

Pretty sure all of these schools are need blind. Your income status isn’t going to help you get in anywhere.
