Any financial aid applications you have completed (Profile and school form) have been estimates of your 2009 tax year information. You will be required to update those financial aid forms with accurate information from your parents’ and your 2009 taxes once they are completed. If there is a huge change…it is likely that there will be a change in your financial aid award.

I always recommend that students take the high road and be honest. If there is a change, I would report it to all of my schools. Simply put…if your income had DECREASED and you needed more aid, you would not hesitate to tell them. That you don’t seem to think you need the aid any longer is the opposite of this. Tell the schools and let them decide what your financial aid status will be.

thank you very much for your quick reply thumper 1.

However I am not yet at college ( I’m going through the admission process and have not yet submitted anything financial aidwise). What i meant was if i do not submit any of my tax information etc will they just not give me any ? Or do i need to notify them that i will no longer be applying for aid? ( I thought it seemed a little rude to just not submit it ! )

Thanks

Let the schools know.

Thank you very much :D
