Financial Statement problem

Can I just submit the bank proof sheet (bank sheet that says I have this much money in my bank account, w/ a signature & stamp of the bank and bank manager) along with the Fianancial statement form? Or does that 'Bank Verification' section have to be filled out?
It's basically the same thing I think :S
I just can't reach my bank manager at this time because my parents have a bank account in another country.

Thankssssss

USC actually checks how much is in our account? should i jsut withdraw all my money then? do they know when we withdraw all our money?

lakerforever24, oldnite1 is asking about the financial statement International applicants must submit. As your location says “Los Angeles,” that requirement probably does not apply to you. (If you are applying for financial aid, however, both the FAFSA and CSS/Profile will ask for balances.)

oldnite1:

You can submit the letter from the bank along with the financial certification form (the bank section doesn’t have to be filled in if there is an accompanying letter from the bank, but the sponsor section does).

So the options are:

Fill ALL of the financial certification form in - including getting it signed by the bank

Fill in the fin cert form, leaving the bank signature part blank, and then send a letter from the bank attached to that form.

Hope that helps

Are we really required to show exactly 50k per year? I applied for financial aid and am expecting to get a scholarship 20k-25k per year. So if I show them 200.000$ in my bank account, won’t they think that I have money and I don’t need that much aid?

FURKANK: Are you international? If so, you won’t get financial aid.

And you must prove that you can afford to attend before you find out about scholarships. You dont however, have to prove 200k, just 50k and a reliable source of income to prove the remaining 150k will be available in subsequent years.

Take it VERY carefully, FA is not something you want to file incorrectly!

@adambedford

Yes, I am. The kind of aid I’m talking about must be ’ International Freshman Academic '. I can’t recall what it really is but I’m positive USC helps internationals in some way since one of my friends got some financial help last year.

FURKANK, it is called the *International Freshman Academic Scholarship *and is a merit award, not need-based financial aid.

[USC Financial Aid - Grants & Scholarships - Undergraduate - Freshmen Only Scholarships](http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/grants_scholarships/undergraduates/meritbasedfo.html)

The International Freshman Academic Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship, so it isn’t dependant on your finances, just your academics.

A side note: International students are also eligible for the other scholarships (Trustee/Presidential, Deans etc.) as well.

Thanks! So I’ll show all I have.
