HI. Here's a thread to search for your potential other half...of your dorm room. The UCSB Roommate Questionnaire pales in comparison to the expectation I had so I'm taking matters into my own hands. I want to make the best of my freshman year by finding a roommate I will get along with! If you're in the same boat, leave your responses to the following categories in a reply below! I encourage you to make a profile below because you never know, you could end up finding a best friend.

- Baking
- Watching people sing, pull pranks, draw, do makeup & hauls on Youtube

Favorite TV Shows/Movies:
- NBA, Lakers all the way! Clippers…halfway.
- Pretty Little Liars
- FRIENDS (this show can never stop being hilarious)

- Romantic comedies

Personality:
- Liberal

- A bit reserved

Characteristics I Value in Others:

If we’re going to share a room, you should know that (pet peeves included):
- I hate it when people leave the toothpaste uncapped.
- My room needs to be clean! It has to look neat.
- It takes me at least a half hour to get ready in the morning.
- I tend to snooze…a lot, but who doesn’t?
- I don’t mind sharing my clothes and nail polish! (Style: Boho, Urban, Girly)
What do I want from a roommate?
I’m hoping to be great friends with my roommate. I would try to make our relationship strong enough that we can talk openly and rely on each other when needed.

Private message me if you think we’d be a good match!

Omg with you’re like me exactly!
I agreed with everything on your profile except for the whole toothpaste cap thing (totally random lol!)
too bad I’m living in Tropicana
have you considered Tropicana del Norte?

Really? That’s so cool! Aww, I’m set on living on a substance-free floor. But, maybe we can have a lovesick movie marathon in the Tropicana Theater! I’m Sally, by the way.

How does Topicana pricing compare to residence hall pricing? I passed by some of the units during Spring Insight and wasn’t too impressed after seeing Santa Catalina…

i agree
living on a substance free floor is really important, especially from what i’ve heard of sb, that’s why I opted for Tropicana’s substance free option
I’m Deborah!
and here you go harrypotter101

What?! Tropicana’s substance free option? Hmm, Tropicana now seems so much more enticing than Santa Catalina & the 15 min bike ride that comes with it…Nice to meet you, Deborah!

actually i just double checked and tropicana doesn’t offer a strictly substance free option per say BUT you do fill out a questionnaire which they use to find you suite mates
one of the questions is “do you choose to live a substance free lifestyle” and do you drink, smoke etc.
They try to match you with people like you so I’d assume (fingers crossed) that since I put I’m substance free, my roommates will be also
and nice to meet you too Sally! If my judgment is correct, i’d say you sound like an English major?

Haha, you’re judgement is off this time, but it sure is flattering! I don’t have the balls or the Old English tolerance to be an English major. I’m studying pre-Psych right now. What made you decide on Tropicana Del Norte? Ever worry that you’d be missing out on the “Freshman” environment? I think that’s my main concern at the moment.

Well I’m feeling pretty ballsy right now because I intend to major in English!
Uhm yea I was definitely worried about missing out by living in Tropicana until I heard reviews from people who’ve actually lived there. Tropicana has tons of great events that campus dorms don’t have and from what I’ve gathered that gives Trop a community like feel. Then I actually visited Trop at Spring Insight and the rooms are soo much nicer and bigger than dorms
Anther big thing was the lack of community bathrooms
the thought of sharing a bathroom with like 75 people makes me shudder inside lol

Yeah, the bathroom situation…is not appealing, to say the least. That’s why I’m interested in San Cat and as of recently, Tropicana. I’m probably going to visit this weekend before I make a decision. Hey, are you a part of the FB group posted above?

nope i made a Facebook a few months ago but i had to deactivate it recently for now because a lazy senior+new Facebook user=big distraction lol
but I’ll private message you my email (I know archaic technology) so we can stop flooding this post :)
