I have a handful of colleges that I am looking at, but one of the main things that would stop me from going to a certain school would be cost. How do I find out my total financial aid that I will receive from each school?

The schools are:
UCR - Accepted to
UCSB - Accepted to
UCI - On the waiting list
Baylor University - On the waiting list

Since these are public schools mostly, you will either qualify for need based aid such as Cal Grant or nothing. The school usually tells you with admission what merit aid they are giving you

Are you instate for the UCs? If so, you might qualify for Cal Grants, UC grants, or fed grants, depending on EFC and income.

Did you submit FAFSA to these schools? If not, do so ASAP. If you qualify for a Cal Grant, have you done everything for that?

To get the prices of schools, usually if you do the Net Price Calculator, you get the price as well. Also, the Cost of Attendance should be on the website.

You have already applied, have you not? It’s time you get your aid packages. They usually come right around the time the decisions are made, so you will see actual awards instead of guessing. But looking at the NPC can show any discrepancies between the way the school and you can estimate you aid vs reality ,and you can then discuss them with financial aid if they are significant.

If you have acceptances, read over your material and find out where to look on line for your award if that is the way your school sets out this info. Basically, find out how each school lets you know, and if you are supposed to get a notification, and have not, call and find out why you have not. Good luck.
