My son is in kind of a unique situation. He is currently a college freshman majoring in civil engineering (although he has not ruled out arch. at this point). He is going to school in Michigan. He graduated from HS in the Boise, Idaho area and he did do a paid internship for Micron during his senior year of HS. Last summer (after his graduation) we moved to eastern Washington (about 6-7 hours away from Boise, so not close).

We are wondering how this kid will go about finding an internship in our new city, where he really doesn't know anybody. He could do a summer internship at Micron in Boise, but he'd have to find a place to live and I would kind of like to have him home for the summer ;) . Should he just send out resumes to local engineering/arch firms in our city? We are clueless.

Any ideas?
